Activate Air-gapped License

Portworx Backup allows its users on air-gapped cluster environments to opt for usage-based licenses so that they pay only for the backup nodes that are in use and for the number of node-hours they utilize. Users can activate usage-based licensing by activating air-gapped metering license. Also, for such environments, Portworx Backup web console provides an option to download a billing report. The users should share the report with the Portworx Support/CSM team for billing purposes.

To activate an air-gapped metering license:

  1. Login to Portworx Backup web console.

  2. In the home page, click Settings from the bottom bar of the left navigation pane.

  3. In the Settings menu, select License.

  4. In License Entitlements page, click Details.

  5. In the Portworx Backup license page, click Import License:

  6. In the Add License window, choose AirGapped Metering and then click Import License:

    License type changes to Airgapped Metering in the Portworx Backup license page after the license is successfully imported.

    note

    Users can also opt for node-based licensing (without node-hour metering) in air-gapped environments.

Download air-gapped metering report​

To download the usage report for air-gapped license:

  1. Login to Portworx Backup web console.

  2. In the home page, click License icon from the left navigation pane.

  3. In License Entitlements page, click Details.

  4. Click Download Billing Report to download the report.

  5. Share the report with the Portworx Support/CSM team every month for billing calculations.
